Spring Availability & Scheduling Tips

I have some good news and some bad news....bad news, I will not be available for sessions during the month of May. Good news, it's because I'll be traveling throughout Europe! I am so excited to be blessed with this amazing opportunity, and I want to fill all of you in so that you can be better prepared for scheduling your spring and summer sessions!

The dates I have open for bookings this spring are March 23rd through 31st, as well as April 21st. I will be back in the full swing of things on June 4th and scheduling throughout the remainder of the summer.

Although I will be out of the country during the month of May, I will still be checking email periodically, so please don't hesitate to shoot me a message with any of your inquiries!

SCHEDULING TIPS

When it comes to scheduling your session, there are SO MANY things to think about. First of all, how much heat can you/your family handle? When scheduling a summer session, keep in mind that I always shoot two hours before sunset for the best light, meaning that it is generally still VERY warm, especially in August. If you have young children, it might be better to schedule towards the beginning of summer to avoid having sweaty, squirming kids.

For my high school SENIOR clients: Since the most popular time for senior portraits is at the end of summer, book EARLY to make sure you get your August/September spot!

The next important thing to keep in mind when scheduling your session is what type of color you want from your location. In early summer, foliage tends to be much more vivid, while later in August it turns to a much more mellow/subtle hue. To show you the difference, below you will find examples from my two most used locations at two different times during the summer -- late May/early June and mid to late August. All of these images were edited using the exact same techniques and taken at the same time during the day.

Cassetto Family: Orchard location, late May                                              Jami: Orchard Location, late August

Kennlyn: Meadow, early June                                                           Keatts Family: Meadow, mid August

Well, enough of my essay, I hope these tips are helpful and let me know if you have ANY questions! I can't wait to work with you in the coming summer months!!
